Student Council

Student Council members at a bake sale

The primary mission of the Student Council is service – service to our school, St. John’s Academy, and to our community. We hold bake sales, dances, and movie nights to help promote a sense of community within our school and to raise funds for these great causes.

Each year the Student Council chooses 3 special charities we will support financially. We also make an annual donation back to the school to help our own community. Charities are chosen based on the interests and concerns of the current year’s student council representatives.

We recently donated to the SJA Tuition Assistance Fund.

Meetings

Student Council meetings are held once a month after school. Meetings will be the first Wednesday of every month and begin at 2:15 and end at 2:45 pm. Students will be dismissed from the flagpole doors. We will have executive board meetings and special event meetings throughout the year. These may occur after school or during lunch. Prior notice will be made so that students can make arrangements to attend the meeting. These are the general student council meetings, officers are expected to come to each meeting with an agenda.
